Counselling Psychologist

Panos is a HCPC registered and BPS chartered Counselling Psychologist at Sysi, with over a decade of experience in the field of mental health. Panos has worked on the management team of a prestigious private clinic in London and in various NHS settings, including primary and secondary care services, as well as specialised environments such as drug rehabilitation units.

Panos adopts an integrative approach to care, customising his approach to each client’s needs. While his foundational training lies in Person-Centred and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), his interest and expertise extends to a broader range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. These include Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Furthermore, Panos is trained in couples therapy from the world-renowned Tavistock Relationships centre.

With extensive experience working with individuals and couples across various age groups, Panos addresses a wide range of concerns, including low mood, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and anxiety issues such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), health anxiety, as well as bereavement, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), phobias, anger, family and relationship problems.

Panos has a particular interest in relationship challenges, trauma, depression, and anxiety-related issues, offering a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

Panos holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manchester, along with an MSc in Psychology from Sheffield Hallam University and an MSc in Counselling Psychology from the University of Sheffield.
